Abstract
The choice of educational trajectory and professional
self-determination are two challenges facing high
school students. Occupational choice is not an easy task for
senior schoolchildren due to the absence of experience. Logistics
is among highly demanded occupations and it arouses
students interest. But high demand for logists couples with
not lower professional requirements. The acquaintance with
some of the elements of logistics is a good way for creating
appropriate high school graduates professional expectations.
That is why pedagogical support is an important component
of educational process orienting high school students toward
the profession of logist.

The article considers the theoretical and practical
issues of the origin and development of testing from ancient to
modern times. The article describes the way of formation and
improvement of tests in pedagogical process from theoretical
point of view and takes into account current and final control
demands to the level of foreign language students skills. Testing
makes it possible to ensure the common demands to the

The article dwells upon a method of using a
captioned video film in teaching English to Russian students.
Having mentioned the great potential of this audio-visual aid
in forming students communicative competence, the author
points out the problems some foreign language teachers have
to face. Many of them seem to be unaware of the amount of
preliminary work to have been done before introducing video
technologies into TESOL activities. The author believes
that any effective application of video materials for language
teaching purposes is stipulated by teachers ability to make
his/her students ready for receiving video information. A
captioned video film presentation should be coupled with a
thoroughly thought-out set of previewing, viewing, and postviewing
(application) exercises. Suggesting a ready model
lesson the author describes some basic techniques of using
authentic video materials in TESOL activities, gives possible
variants of exercises and tasks meant to complement viewing
and speaks on the ways of students progress assessment.

Abstract
The article deals with the problem of differential
training in professionally oriented reading. The psychological,
pedagogical and language didactic principles of differential
training in reading are investigated in the article. The author
deals with the question of choosing and organizing the texts
in order to provide differential approach in the field of self-directed
learning and considers the hypotheses of three models
of differential training in professionally oriented reading.

Abstract
This study considers some special features of
using visual methods in foreign language teaching. As the
author considers, they include visual aids (diagrams, tables,
drawings…), i.e. the items which provide illustrative comments
on the material. The use of visual aids is two-aimed:
firstly they should simplify the material comprehension and
secondly can serve as an additional knowledge source. The
author does not exaggerate the importance of using any visual
methods. She proves the fact that their use is only sensible
to a degree they stimulate the students activity in studying a
foreign language. The research also includes the authors developments
in using visual methods for teaching children with
defective perception. In conclusion, the author warns against
the over-use of visual aids in foreign language teaching.

Abstract
The article considers the development of thinking
skills in young orienteer-rubbers using a game method.
It is proved that game-based tasks positively influence the
development of not only thinking, but also the formation of individual
cognitive style of perceiving and revising information.
The article characterizes the commonest orienteering cognitive
styles and the dynamics of transferring from field-dependent
strategy to field-independent one in most children.

Abstract
The global crisis that swept over Russia in the
early 1990s had grave consequences affected the majority of
citizens. The dramatic deterioration of socio-economic situation
was perceived in all spheres of life, including childrens
health.
Of particular concern in this regard are orphans and children
left without parental care. More than a hundred and fifty
thousand children in Russia are currently living in orphanages.
In order to identify the features of health, motor development
and physical fitness of orphans, we studied these aspects as
well as the factors adversely affecting the development of
such children.
The obtained results confirmed the need for corrective actions
on the physical and psychological health of orphans and
children without parental care.

Abstract
This paper considers some aspects of acute
pedagogical problems in modelling the process of intensive
higher mathematics teaching in technical, classical and pedagogical
universities. Synthetic approach to modelling educational
process is considered, which consists in applying certain
mathematical theories resulting in new pedagogical tools.
It has been suggested that the concepts of topological model
and topological relation system can be successfully used in
teaching higher mathematics. The state graph obtained at
applying this approach is rather adequate to the pedagogical
situation.

Abstract
The article covers the problem of training modern
mathematics teachers in applying the competence-based
approach due to the reform of higher education in Russia.
The notion of stochastic competency is clarified and the results
are analyzed of the research identifying the stochastic
competence level of practicing mathematics teachers. The
need for innovative methods is suggested to generate stochastic
competence among modern mathematics teachers.

Abstract
To make the educational process in the system
of Open Distance Professional Learning (ODPO) much more
efficient, one should consider various characteristics of potential
consumers of educational services. The article highlights
the «portrait» of a potential consumer of the educational
services programme «Teaching Business English according
to the dynamics of the business field». Potential consumers
of the programme are characterized according to their social
background, professional status, motivation to learn, their age
and experience, as well as their ability to have access to various
technical resources. Furthermore, the article analyses
consumer demands and expectations that are related to individual
results of learners. All the mentioned aspects largely
determine the specific programme structure, especially, the
necessity to form and develop individual competences in professional
communication for various learners.

Abstract
This article deals with possibilities of using Internet
Technologies for teaching Business English. The author
introduces her own classification of Internet Technologies for
teaching Business English based on the educational criterion.
Educational websites and online courses are considered to
be educational technologies. Among the non-educational
ones that can be used for teaching purposes the author lists
various forms of telecommunication, informational resources,
online catalogues and shops and business games.

Abstract
The article discusses the importance of computer
simulation in shaping project activity skills of bachelors
in building engineering. The study uncovers the concept of
model, simulation and computer simulation as the basic
cognitive tools in scientific and practical research.
The paper analyzes the importance of didactic modeling
programs, it is noted that the simulation permits to increase
the intensity of training as it releases the essence of phenomena.
The simplified model excludes non-essential properties
that hinder students perception and exploration of the material.
Computer simulation helps students experience the
quintessence of the current process and the connection of
parameters. Indeed, building models, students reproduce the
signs of the object, its structure. Further experimenting with
the model interiorizes theoretical knowledge, creates conditions
for independent cognitive work and transition to similar
material.

The article considers the content and main
problem of hermeneutic stage in shaping musical students
interpretive culture from the position of realizing the principle
of understanding pedagogy aimed at improving and developing
the most significant personal and professional abilities
and qualities. The hermeneutic stage in forming musical students
interpretive culture is characterized by students selfevaluation
and self-correction of their professional musical
and educational activity raising motivation and active interest
in building a capacity for interpretive musical performance.
