DEVELOPMENT OF JOHN RUSKINS IDEAS IN SOCIAL AND PEDAGOCIAL ACTIVITY OF SETTLEMENT «HULL-HOUSE»
Abstract
that influenced the formation of social and pedagogical programs
in the settlement «Hull-House». The main emphasis of
this work is on John Ruskins views on art education and its
matter in the social reformation, on defects of academic education
and necessity of active learning. The article presents a
comparative analysis of John Ruskin and Jane Addams opinions
and specific character of realization John Ruskins ideas
in the settlement «Hull-House».
