JOHN DEWEY’S PEDOCENTRISM AS A GLOBAL IDEA OF HUMANISTIC PEDAGOGICS OF THE XXth CENTURY

Abstract

This article reveals the notion of pedocentrism – the approach,appearedinpedagogicsat the beginning of the XXth century thanks to outstanding American pedagogue, psychologist and philosopher John Dewey; provides a view on the main ideas of pedagogical trends, proclaiming the free character of child’s development (theories of free education, new education), and the reforms in the educational sphere held to solve the problem of children’s rights’ protection, that were stimulated by the idea of pedocentrism.
