CONCERNING THE CLASSIFICATION OF SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL FILMS

Abstract

This article provides a brief description of the history of the issue of scientific and educational films classification. It also shows how important the issue is at present. The new and more objective (in the authors’ opinion) classification, which includes educational, scientific and non-fiction films is identified and described. It is determined by the tasks assigned and the purpose of the film use in science and education. The classification refers to educational, scientific and popular science films. The necessity to include into this classification the category of scientific-educational films which combine both scientific novelty and explanations necessary for the educational process.
