IMPACT OF THE TEMPUS PROGRAMME ON INTERNATIONALISATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION
Abstract
The article carries an analysis of higher education internationalization processes and of the contribution of the Tempus Programme to these processes as viewed through the prism of the implementation of all types of Tempus projects. Special attention is given to the dynamic character of the internationalization processes under the impact of society’s developmental factors, as well as to new challenges, problems and risks inherent in the further progress of internationalization as a factor of sustainable development. Contradictions between the humanistic value of internationalization and the growing tendency towards commercializing its mechanisms are underlined, which calls for the re-thinking of the entire internationalization paradigm so that it would meet the interests of all target groups participating in higher education.
