ON THE ORIGIN OF TESTS AND THEIR USE IN TEACHING PRACTICE
Abstract
issues of the origin and development of testing from ancient to
modern times. The article describes the way of formation and
improvement of tests in pedagogical process from theoretical
point of view and takes into account current and final control
demands to the level of foreign language students skills. Testing
makes it possible to ensure the common demands to the
procedure of tests during knowledge control. However initially,
the principal theoretical and practical conditions of testology
were developed for psychologists and then brought on the
pedagogical tests. The author believes that for deeper understanding
of the meaning of test technology in teaching process
it is necessary to consider the history and development of testing,
which has deep roots. The review of testing development
in world practice shows that testing is one of the main tools of
assessment of pedagogical activity, which is characterized by
objectivity, validity and careful preparation of testing materials.
