The issues of mastering subject skills and knowledge of literature in preparation for the Unified State Exam

Abstract
Relevance. The article is devoted to the topical issue of mastering subject knowledge and skills in literature in secondary school. The analysis of the results of the Unified State Exam in literature clearly demonstrates the level of development of subject competencies by students.
Aim of the article is to consider problem areas in studying literature, which are determined by the deficits of graduates when performing the Unified State Exam.
Methodology was the analysis of typical mistakes that students make when performing the Unified State Exam. All tasks of the Unified State Exam are systematically and consistently considered in terms of the complexity of their implementation. Special attention is paid to the analysis of tasks for comparing works of art, as well as difficulties in mastering theoretical and literary concepts.
Scientific novelty / theoretical and / or practical significance. Special emphasis in the article is placed on the analysis exam participants’ detailed answers. As a convincing example, excerpts from the works of graduates are given, which clearly demonstrate the typical mistakes of students. The article is of an applied nature, its scientific novelty and practical significance lies in the development of methodological recommendations designed to help overcome deficits in the development of literature, which makes the article interesting for a teacher of literature.
Results of the study clearly demonstrate the maximum difficulties in the tasks of the test part and in the typology of detailed answers.
Conclusions. The analysis of the obtained results makes it possible to actualize problem areas in literature and outline ways to overcome them, which makes the article interesting for a teacher-philologist.
