Author Guidelines

1. General requirements

1.1. Manuscripts submitted to the Journals of Moscow Region State University for consideration should meet the following requirements:

  • be written either in Russian or in English;
  • meet the formatting requirements specified in the Journal’s manuscript format guidelines;
  • correspond to the Journal’s thematic scope;
  • comply with the norms of Publishing Ethics.

1.2. Only original articles are considered for publication. All submitted manuscripts are checked for inappropriate borrowings and plagiarism using the Antiplagiat-VUZ system. Manuscripts submitted in English are checked using Google Scholar instruments. The share of text recycling cannot be higher than 25%. A decision on the publication is taken by the Editorial Board. Texts accepted for publication following peer review and the Editorial Board decision may be proofread without changing their scientific content. Authors receive the text of the review or a rejection decision.

1.3. All authors must respect international norms of Publishing Ethics.


 

2. Manuscript format guidelines

2.1. The manuscript should be typed in the Microsoft Word text processing: font – Times New Roman; font size — 14; all margins – 2.5; line spacing — 1.5. 

2.2. The optimal volume of an article (including the abstract and the Reference list) is from 20,000 to 40,000 characters with spaces. Articles of a larger volume can be published in exceptional cases, upon the decision of the Editorial Board. Articles by graduate students should not exceed 20,000 characters with spaces.

2.3. Article metadata:

  • Name and surname of the author(s) in Russian and in English;
  • Institution with its official address (affiliation);
  • Title of the article in Russian and in English (lower case);
  • Abstract in Russian (at least 200 words). Please, consider the requirements to abstracts;
  • Abstract in English;
  • Keywords in Russian (5-7 search terms used by all bibliographic databases to search for scientific articles by keyword);
  • Keywords in English;
  • Acknowledgements (information about grant and other financial support, etc.).

2.4. Article body

Introduction: formulation of the problem, analysis of previous literature, aims and objectives of the research, description of research methodology.

Results with 2-3 subsections: qualitative or quantitative analysis of empirical data, processing of secondary data, historical research, analysis of the evolution of ideas in this research field.

Conclusions: authors’ original conclusions corresponding to the formulated aims and objectives; information about the solution of the formulated research problem and possible implications of the research results.

If applicable, authors may follow the IMRAD structure.

2.5. References

In-text references are to be provided in square brackets and contain the serial number of the source from the list and a page number: e.g. [18, p. 65]. If a reference includes several sources, these sources are separated by a semicolon: e.g. [4, p.15; 5, p.123].

The Reference list should contain references to cited literature sources in alphabetical order.

It is advisable that the Reference list contain 7–30 sources. Of these, at least one third should be from the past five years.

2.6. The manuscript may contain footnotes specifying: archival sources, materials from private collections, Internet resources, legal acts and documents, statistical and sociological data, literary and journalistic works, etc. Footnotes are placed at the bottom of the page using MS tools: References → Insert Footnote→ Type the footnote text.

2.7. Graphical material and illustrations presented in a manuscript should conform to the following requirements:

  • a single graphic object must not exceed the size of a page, font size – 12;
  • be black and white, without shades, i.e. contain no areas filled with colour;
  • tables or figures should be presented as vertical images;
  • tables and figures must be numbered and have titles in Russian and English;
  • references to the original sources of tables or figures should be provided below the respective tables or figures. For original tables and figures, kindly provide the following information: “Source: the author(s)’ data” or “Compiled by the author(s) according to ...”;
  • formulas should be typed using Microsoft Equation or provided as images;
  • all tables, figures and other graphical materials should be referred to in the body of the article. 

 

3. Submission checklist

Three separate documents should be submitted.

3.1. The manuscript in digital format.

3.2. The completed application form addressed to the Editor-in-Chief. This form should be completed and signed by each co-author.

3.3. (If applicable) Authors having no scientific degree should provide a letter of reference (from the organization or a scientific supervisor).

The manuscript and accompanying documents can be submitted:

  • either via email attachment to info@vestnik-mgou.ru;
  • or personally to Moscow, Radio str.,10A, office 98.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
  3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) prior to and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work (See The Effect of Open Access).
  4. The Author(s) retain copyright and grant the Journal right to use the results of their intellectual work in the form of an original research article, review article, book review or short communication on the basis of non-exclusive license and this License agreement.

 

Privacy Statement

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
