В статье раскрывается понятие педоцентризма – подхода, вошедшего в педагогику в начале XX века благодаря американскому педагогу, психологу и философу Джону Дьюи; представлены основные положения педагогических течений, провозглашающих свободное развитие ребенка (теория свободного воспитания, новое воспитание), а также реформы в области образования, проводимые в рамках решения проблемы защиты прав ребенка, толчком для которых и стала идея педоцентризма.

This article reveals the notion of pedocentrism – the approach,appearedinpedagogicsat the beginning of the XXth century thanks to outstanding American pedagogue, psychologist and philosopher John Dewey; provides a view on the main ideas of pedagogical trends, proclaiming the free character of child’s development (theories of free education, new education), and the reforms in the educational sphere held to solve the problem of children’s rights’ protection, that were stimulated by the idea of pedocentrism.
