Актуальность. Данная тема представляется актуальной, т. к. перед современной высшей школой в настоящее время поставлена задача – сформировать личность обучающегося, которая способна самостоятельно обеспечить своё непрерывное развитие в области профессиональной деятельности.
Цель. Обосновать роль внеаудиторного чтения в формировании у студентов-курсантов навыка самостоятельной работы с аутентичными профессионально-ориентированными текстами, определить реальные потребности курсантов в данной форме обучения иностранному языку.
Методы исследования. На поисково-диагностическом этапе были проанализированы научно-методические статьи, опубликованные в российских рецензируемых научных журналах перечня Высшей аттестационной комиссии Минобрнауки России, в мировых научных журналах. В статье осуществляется критический анализ источников, посвящённых самостоятельной работе студентов, на основе обобщения полученных результатов анализа устанавливается связь между внеаудиторной формой обучения иностранному языку и процессом формирования у обучающихся навыка самостоятельной работы. С целью определения ценностных ориентаций курсантов касательно внеаудиторной формы работы с аутентичными профессионально-ориентированными текстами проводится опрос студентов, в котором приняли участие 72 курсанта.
Научная новизна / теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Данное исследование способствует решению научной проблемы, связанной с формированием у студентов высшей школы навыка самостоятельной работы с аутентичными профессионально ориентированными текстами на иностранном языке.
Результаты. Результаты исследования позволили определить проблемы обучения профессионально-ориентированному чтению, с которыми сталкиваются преподаватели, а также предложить возможные пути их решения.
Выводы. Внеаудиторное чтение профессионально-ориентированных текстов способствует формированию у студентов военного вуза навыка самостоятельной работы.
Relevance. This subject seems relevant, since the modern higher school is currently tasked with forming the student’s personality that is able to independently ensure its continuous development in the field of professional activity.
Aim. To substantiate the role of extracurricular reading in the formation of students-cadets of the skill of independent work with authentic professionally-oriented texts, to determine the real needs of cadets in this form of foreign language teaching.
Methodology. At the search and diagnostic stage, scientific and methodological articles published in Russian peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science and in world scientific journals were analyzed. The article provides a critical analysis of the sources devoted to the independent work of students, based on the generalization of the analysis results, a connection is established between the extracurricular form of teaching a foreign language and the process of formation of students’ independent work skills. In order to determine the value orientations of cadets regarding the extracurricular form of work with authentic professionally-oriented texts, a survey of students is conducted, in which 72 cadets took part.
Scientific novelty / theoretical and / or practical significance. This research contributes to the solution of the scientific problem associated with the formation of the skill of independent work with authentic professionally oriented texts in a foreign language among high school students.
Results. The results of the study made it possible to identify the problems of teaching professionally-oriented reading that teachers face, as well as to suggest possible ways to solve these problems.
Conclusions. Extracurricular reading of professionally-oriented texts contributes to the formation of independent work skills among students of a military university.
